Republic of Gamers (ROG)the gaming sub-brand of the computer hardware manufacturer ASUShas announced the launch of a customized cell phone before Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s M5 World Championship. This will be released prior to the season’s MLBB tournament, and will also include a gift box.
The phone in question will be based on two existing models, ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6Din addition to a MLBB-themed gift box along with the device. The gift box includes a case featuring MLBB character Yu Zhong, a MLBB badge holder, a ROG AeroActive phone cooler and a screen cleaning cloth.
The phones themselves will see no changes and will remain the same as previous ROG Phone models, a fact that is striking from previous custom editions, where the company created a phone specifically for the launch of Diablo: Immortal that features a custom back designed in conjunction with Blizzard Entertainment.
The collaboration between ASUS ROG and MLBB developer MOONTON was initially announced earlier this year, with a focus on growing the competitive scene. As part of the partnership, ROG will be the official sponsor of the M5 World Championship. which will take place in December this year in Kuala Lumpur and the Philippines.
The M5 World Championship is traditionally one of the most watched esports events of the year. Last year’s edition, dubbed M4, had over 4.2 million viewers, making it the third most watched event within the esports sector. For this year, changes will be introduced to the tournament, the most notable being the addition of a wildcard stage and the inclusion of Chinese teams in the tournament for the first time ever.
