Riot Gamesthe leading video game publisher and operator of esports tournaments, has shared a first look at its new home for esports in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) ahead of the 2024 esports season. The facility, which will serve Riot Games EMEA Esports events taking place in the region, will open to the public for the first time this weekend.

We have innovated both aesthetically and technologically to create the new of Riot Games Esports in EMEA, enhancing the experience for fans, teams and their players. The venue sets the bar high for esports worldwide, and will set us up for further success in the years to come, as we remain committed to developing the future of esports in the region.

As part of the presentation, additional information has been revealed about key aspects of the enclosure, including the fan zone. The enclosure, which will completely immerse fans, has seen the introduction of a EMEA Esports Hall of Famecapable of changing the league’s relevant brands through digital technology.
It will also introduce a display of the presenterswhich will offer fans the possibility to see members of their favorite team during broadcast days through a transparent window. Other improvements include the reception, cafeteria, the store, ticket office and bar.
The stadium, which will have new movie theater seats and an amphitheater for the public, will increase its capacity by 20%, bringing the number of seats to 210. The venue has also improved the player experience, increasing to six the number of warm-up rooms, as well as a new player lounge area and team spaces.
As of September 2023, the venue has undergone a major refurbishment to become an arena capable of hosting numerous Riot Games EMEA Esports titles, through the use of innovative infrastructure design and the support of the Dublin-based Riot Games Remote Broadcast Center, powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The new Riot Games Arena Berlin, formerly the LEC Studio, will be the new home of the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) and the Valorant Champions Tour EMEA (VCT EMEA). In addition, the venue will be able to remotely host other esports events such as VALORANT Challengers Ascension, VALORANT EMEA Game Changers, EMEA Masters and Team Fight Tactics (TFT).
