Frontier Developments has revealed the two Hero DLCs coming to Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, as well as the first details about the game’s upcoming physical edition. Both Hero DLCs will be released after the real-time strategy game launches digitally on Nov. 17, with an exact release date to be announced.
The Hero DLCs each add a new playable Age of Sigmar unit to the game that can be used in Skirmish, multiplayer and single-player Conquest mode, and bring entirely new abilities to the playing field. Players will replace their standard hero units with one of these special characters, allowing them to customize their overall strategic approach to the game.
Both Hero DLCs are bundled with the Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin – Ultimate Edition, which has a recommended retail price of €74.99. Each Hero DLC will also be available separately for €4.99, as well as as as part of a bundle for €8.99, and requires a copy of the base game to play.
In contrast, the physical edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin will be released on Feb. 27, 2024 for PlayStation® 5 and Xbox Series X only, and includes both Hero DLCs.
In Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin – Yndrasta, The Celestial Spear, players gain access to a mighty champion of the Stormcast Eternals. Forged by Sigmar in Azyr and charged with the task of tracking down the stray beasts of Ghur, Yndrasta is a powerful flying hero who can quickly jump in and out of battle. Her legendary spear, Thengevar, can be thrown to disrupt enemies and inspire allies.
With Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin – Gobsprakk, The Mouth of Mork, Orruk Kruleboyz, players have access to the faction’s first flying hero unit in the game. Gobsprakk is the smartest and most cunning of all Swampcalla shamans, taking off into the sky on a Corpse-rippa Vulcha. A highly mobile and late game assault hero, he summons support for his Orruk comrades and unloads destructive power on his enemies.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin will launch digitally on Nov. 17 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. In addition to the Ultimate Edition, players can purchase the Standard Edition for a recommended retail price of $59.99 and the Deluxe Edition for $69.99.
