Realme 9i 5G confirmed with 5000mAh battery and 90Hz display

The Realme 9i 5G is confirmed for official release on August 19, equipped with the Dimensity 810 chipset. The phone will have a 90Hz refresh rate LCD screen (180Hz touch interface precision), cropped around the front camera after the “drop” design.

Framed in the budget range, the Realme 9i 5G comes with 5000 mAh battery, with USB-C charging support as its main attraction, as an alternative to the old micro-USB standard.

From the rather slim list of officially unconfirmed specs we glimpse the 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD display, 50MP resolution main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera and the quasi-useless 2MP camera serving the macro function.

The Realme 9i 5G will ship with a version of Android 12 in the Realme UI 3.0 interpretation.

According to the semi-official specs list, the fast charging speed conforms to the first-generation Quick Charge standard, meaning that any relatively recent-generation AC adapter will be able to charge the battery to 18W power via USB-C.

Launched exactly a year ago, the Dimensity 810 uses the 6nm manufacturing process developed by TSMC, features 5G dual stand-by support (up to two SIM cards) and an octa-core CPU consisting of four Cortex-A76 cores (up to 2.4GHz) and another four Cortex-A55 cores optimised for efficient battery usage. Android gaming performance is powered by a Mali-G57 MC2 series GPU. The memory interface supports LPDDR4x RAM chips and NAND Flash storage solutions based on the UFS 2.2 format.

Available versions will be with 4GB/64GB or 6GB/128GB. There will be at least nine color versions, the major problem is more the lack of innovation on the design side.
