MADRID, Feb. 11 (Royals Blue) –
The Spanish MotoGP rider Pol Espargaró (Repsol Honda), the fastest on the first day of the pre-season test at the Mandalika circuit, has assured that the bike “continues to improve” and that the future is “promising”, although he is aware that it was only the first contact and that starting this Saturday “everyone will go a little faster”.
“The bike continues to improve and we are just at the beginning of our journey, but it is promising. Now it’s time to rest tonight and go back to work tomorrow,” said the Granollers rider in statements provided by his team.
In addition, he stated that it has been a day “a bit complicated” despite the 1:32.466 that allowed him to lead the time table on the Indonesian track. “Starting the day, in the morning, the track was dirty, but after that it got better as we kept running and cleaning the tarmac,” he said.
“We have been able to ride in a better way, start to learn more about the track and also progress with the bike, which is still quite new. I finally had a good lap and, in general, my pace has been good, but it’s just the first day and tomorrow everyone will go a little faster,” he concluded.
