POCO has globally launched two new smartphones, the POCO M5 and POCO M5s, for mobile gaming and entertainment enthusiasts. The POCO M5 is designed for those who play games on their phone every day, while the POCO M5s promises balanced entertainment experiences at a slightly higher price.
Representing the third generation of POCO 5G phones, the new M5 also comes with a 5000 mAh battery, capable of fast charging at 18W power.
Slightly enhanced, the 6.58-inch IPS LCD screen offers the same 1080×2400 pixel resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Instead we get DynamicSwitch display, a technology that dynamically switches the refresh rate to lower values, increasing battery life. The gaming and entertainment experience is complemented by stereo speakers arranged along the length of the screen and a 240Hz sample rate touch interface. The POCO M5s has a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED DotDisplay.
The photo setup has a 50MP camera at its heart, helped by macro and depth sensors of 2MP each. Slightly better equipped, the POCO M5s comes with a 64MP main camera and 8MP ultra-wide camera and 13MP front camera respectively.
The POCO M5 comes with the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset on 6nm, while the M5s gets the Helio G95 solution on 12nm. The new M5 is available in 4GB+64GB, 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB variants, priced at €189, €209 and €229. With similar memory options, the POCO M5s will be available to order at prices of €209, €229 and €249.
