In the most mind-boggling goings-on for 2023, Yorkshire Tea has decided to tackle the big bad world of gaming accessories, unveiling its own take on the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller and the Xbox controller.
The devices are essentially just regular versions of both controllers, but with Yorkshire Tea branding over them. The main snag, however, is that both are surprisingly expensive when compared to their regular counterparts, which retail for £150 each.
Yorkshire Tea has touched on why this is the case by stating: “Sorry they’re not cheaper! Believe it or not, we are not making any money on this. It’s a small run of a Popeart custom design that we originally thought we’d just make as a marketing thing, and then thought, what if we actually made them available to buy?
“But we don’t do this kind of thing very often, so the volume was a total gamble.
“So we read all the comments and share what people say with the team.”
This has also led to the rabid Yorkshire Tea fanbase also focusing their attention and anger on the company’s teapots and mugs and why they have yet to be released. The tea company has responded to this as well.
“The mugs and teapots really are on their way – they exist 100% and they are currently being strength tested in Stoke, which will take a while. For reasons that are very important, but still make the social media department a little stressed…. “
