P 7 license plate sold for a record amount at auction in Dubai -.

An auction in Dubai recently concluded and saw a private license plate sold for a record amount. The plate, which contains only the letter and number P 7, was eventually sold to an anonymous bidder for the stunning price of £12 million.

As reported by Top Gear, the deal is a world record and overtakes the previous record that saw the plate sell with only 1 on it for just over £11 million in 2008.

The plate was also sold at an auction that benefited the UAE-based food charity, One Billion Meals Endowment, so hopefully the money will eventually go to something useful in the future.
