Original Star Wars X-Wing model sold for more than $3 million at auction -.

Star Wars memorabilia is worth its weight in gold these days. Models and props from the films have recently hit auction blocks around the world, and in the spirit of this, an original model of an X-Wing, created by Oscar-nominated model maker Greg Jein and used in the closing space battle of A New Hope, has sold at auction for $3.135 million.

The model is a fairly rare piece of memorabilia as it was long considered lost. However, it was recently found in Jein’s garage and now it has been sold and considered the most expensive Star Wars screen-used prop ever sold at auction.
