One of the suspects in the killing of 10 people in Canada found dead

Sep. 6 () –

One of the two brothers suspected of committing the murder of ten people and injuring 18 others at various points in Canada has been found dead with injuries that do not appear to have been self-inflicted, police sources said Monday.

RCMP found the body of Damien Sanderson, 31, on Sunday afternoon in a green space in the James Smith Cree Nation community of James Smith, in the central Saskatchewan province of Canada, ‘The Globe and Mail’ has reported.

The other suspect, identified as Myles Sanderson, 30, remains at large, although RCMP have warned the public that he may seek medical attention, as they believe he may also have sustained injuries.

“Even if he’s injured, it doesn’t mean he’s not dangerous,” Saskatchewan RCMP deputy commissioner Rhonda Blackmore, commanding officer of the Saskatchewan RCMP, has stressed.

The chief of police for the city of Regina — Saskatchewan’s second largest city — Evan Bray has detailed that the most recent information is that Myles Sanderson is in the city, but has cautioned that the information is a day old.

RCMP launched a manhunt Sunday for two people for stabbing dozens of people, injuring 18 people and taking the lives of 10 others in several locations across the province, including the James Smith Cree Nation community.

“At this point in the investigation, we have located ten lifeless bodies and 18 injured in 13 locations,” a police spokeswoman explained at a press conference, announcing that the RCMP was issuing a province-wide alert for “two dangerous persons.”

Officers have advised citizens to take precautions. “If you are in the area, seek immediate shelter. Do not leave a safe place and be cautious about allowing others to enter your residence,” the police force has warned. It has also asked neighbors not to approach suspicious persons or pick up individuals on highways.
