North America has overtaken Europe in Riot Games’ latest League of Legends power ranking. The change follows the LEC’s disappointing results at the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), with LTA North now becoming the best performing Western region in League of Legends.
The rise of LTA North of North America in 2025 began at the end of this year’s first phase, when the region earned a regional strength score of 1403.63 points behind the LEC. The gap between the two regions widened after the end of the second phase, before LTA North overtook the LEC on July 6, 2025.
The League of Legends power ranking features a contextualized match weighting model that values international events, playoffs and group stages over regional competitions.
The change in these rankings follows disappointing results at MSI for the LEC, which became the first region to be eliminated from the tournament. G2 Esports was defeated by FlyQuest, while Movistar KOI lost to CTBC Flying Oyster. With all European teams eliminated from the MSI, the LTA North has the opportunity to consolidate its position as the third best region in League of Legends. FlyQuest continues its MSI campaign on July 9 with a match against Bilibili Gaming in the second round of the lower bracket.
