Outright Games, the leading global publisher of family-friendly interactive entertainment, has announced TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK – Expedition, an all-new, action-packed single-player TRANSFORMERS video game being developed in partnership with Hasbro, a world leader in gaming. This is the first game inspired by the original animated series TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK, which premiered worldwide in November 2022. TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK – Expedition will introduce a new generation of video game fans to a whole new generation of Earthborn TRANSFORMERS bots when it launches later this year on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC.
TRANSFORMERS: EARTHSPARK – Expedition puts fans behind the wheel of iconic hero Bumblebee as he makes his way, rides and fights his way through a new but familiar world. The game aims to faithfully recreate the environment and feel of the groundbreaking animated series. Bumblebee goes on an adventure to confront a mysterious threat from his past and stop the series’ villain, Dr. Meridian, aka “Mandroid,” from retrieving missing pieces of an ancient technology.
As part of this action-packed journey, players can freely explore three vast biomes and complete missions from their Terran allies, the first TRANSFORMERS robots born on Earth and new original characters from the TV series. To complete his mission, Bumblebee also fights against and alongside fan-favorite old TRANSFORMERS bots, including Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Skullcruncher, Nova Storm and Skywarp.
Deep levels of exploration and combat reward players for multiple playthroughs. They unlock a wide range of upgrades and skills that give access to previous locations and to discover secrets in previously inaccessible areas. Unlock the skills needed to take down Decepticons with spectacular ultimate attacks and customize Bumblebee by choosing different engine tracks in vehicle mode.
The game is designed to be accessible to fans of all ages, with detailed analysis of different scenarios allowing freedom of exploration, text readability, control settings and difficulty levels, making the game playable for younger gamers. The game includes variable difficulty levels so that the game can be played based on individual abilities. In addition, there are mechanisms that reduce frustration in battles, such as directional alerts to help players recognize incoming threats more easily. A piloting assistance system has also been added that provides easier controls in vehicle mode, as well as the option to turn on the automatic camera so players can focus their full attention on exploring, piloting and fighting enemies.
Stephanie Malham, COO of Outright Games: “We are very excited to once again collaborate with our long-term licensing partner Hasbro on a Transformers title that pushes the boundaries of what video games can add to a long-standing, wildly popular franchise. They have done an incredible job modernizing and reinventing Transformers for a new generation through TV series, blockbuster movies and by working with the best partners on streaming platforms. We are excited to bring our expertise and complement this strategy with video games for younger fans.”
TRANSFORMERS began in 1984 as a toy line and has since depicted the epic battle between the Autobots and Decepticons in movies, TV shows, comic books, innovative toys and digital media. The TRANSFORMERS franchise is a global powerhouse that spans generations and has produced more than 10 feature films and countless video games, making it a household name around the world.
