The Motorola ThinkPhone is the first really visible result for the deal in which Lenovo acquired the famous smartphone maker.
Prized in the business world, Lenovo Thinkpad laptops will also have a smartphone counterpart in 2023, with the close Lenovo-Motorola relationship ensuring that similarities on the design side will be matched by exciting integration on the software side. Thus, the new ThinkPhone smartphone could be a great companion for ThinkPad laptop owners.

Bought by Lenovo as far back as 2014, Motorola has so far stuck with its own brand strategy image, continuing to operate as an almost completely separate company. Coming as an extension of the Thinkpad family of laptops, the new series retains the “business” label and floats with features meant to give future users extra confidence, such as IP68 certification for water and dust protection.
According to rumours so far, the first ThinkPhone model will have features optimised for the needs of business customers, such as 68W fast charging and a 5000mAh battery, squeezed into an 8.3mm thick case. The 6.6-inch display is pOLED, with 144Hz refresh rate. The platform used is Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with Android 13, suggesting Motorola will frame the new product at a competitive price point. The camera setup is a triple camera with 50MP main sensor, 13MP ultrawide camera and 2MP DoF sensor. Optimized for video calls, the front camera comes with autofocus and a 32MP sensor.
Depending on your budget, Motorola ThinkPhone phones will be available to order with 8GB or 12GB RAM and 128GB, 256GB or 512GB internal memory respectively.
