Motorola announces Moto Buds 600 ANC, a better priced AirPods alternative

Although it’s best known for its Android phone offerings, Motorola also makes smartphone accessories, with the Moto Buds 600 ANC adding to its selection of wireless speakers and headphones.

Commended for their affordable price, Motorola’s new headphones are among the first to implement Snapdragon Sound technology, with the Qualcomm-supplied chipset offering hybrid background noise cancellation and other optimizations that should improve the listening experience.

Called hybrid ANC, the active background noise cancellation technology will be able to automatically adapt to the activity at hand delivering clear sound and effective attenuation of ambient noise. Also, specifically for voice calls Qualcomm has developed Clear Voice Capture technology, using two microphones per headset to isolate the voice from any ambient noise. Also on the chipset level we find optimizations for reducing latency, which will especially help gaming enthusiasts.

In addition, the Moto Buds 600 ANC comes in an IPX5 water and dust protection case.

Advertised at 150 dollars, the new Motorola headsets offer up to 6 hours of battery life with continuous use, or 26 hours on successive charges using the carrying case.

Originally unveiled at the unveiling of the top-of-the-line Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, the Moto Buds 600 ANC earphones will also be available for purchase separately in color versions named Jet Black and Winetasting.
