Madrid in Game, an initiative of the Madrid City Council, will be present at the Mobile Word Congress 2024. The event will be held in Barcelona from February 26-29, the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event and one of the most important trade fairs on the continent.
This event stands as the perfect showcase to promote the successes of the first year of Madrid in Game. in national territory in a professional meeting of indisputable international visibility. The Madrid City Council’s commitment to video games and gamification will feature, for the first time, with a stand at 4YFN (4 Years From Now).
The initiative will be present with 13 startups of the Start IN Up ProgramMadrid in Game’s entrepreneurship program: VERXR, BroupB.live, Conwiro, StadioPlus, Pontica Artes, AlgonGames, Second World, Onlinechampion, SINGULIVE, Betested, Satoshi, Alvearium and United Gamers. The program currently hosts 50 companies in acceleration, which makes the Start IN Up Program the most successful in the world. one of the most ambitious accelerators dedicated to video games in the world.
With the aiming to position itself as a world reference in the video game sector, the presence of Madrid in Game at the Mobile World Congress will help to strengthen the potential and the industry in the capital city, by promoting the videogame Campus, its entrepreneurship program, giving visibility to its participants and creating synergies for its entrepreneurs.. The stand is located in Hall 8.1 (Stand C53), Fira Gran Via (North Access), where the Start IN Up Program will show the most outstanding advances of the project since its inception.The program will showcase the successes of the companies that are being incubated and accelerated in the Madrid in Game entrepreneurship program.
4YFN (4 Years From Now) is an unmissable event in the global entrepreneurial ecosystem. which has been held for 10 years in Barcelona in conjunction with the Mobile World Congress.. This event is designed to connect startups, investors and companies, allowing them to establish synergies with each other. It attracts business people, entrepreneurs and audiences from around the world, as well as major investors and executives from the world’s leading technology companies, making it a powerful catalyst for innovation.
In addition, on February 29th, from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm will take place at the Banco Santander, new member of the Madrid videogame cluster, (pavilion 8.1 stand A51- A52) the round table, “New frontiers: the video game industry beyond entertainment”. During this round table, gamification and the new applications of video games, traditionally linked to the world of entertainment, will be discussed, highlighting the great capacity of the sector and how new business and business proposals are emerging to respond to the transformations and new market needs.
This debate will be moderated by Councilman delegate of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Area of the Madrid City Council, Ángel Niño, and will feature three startups of the Start IN Up Program currently working at the Development Center of the Campus del videojuego: Yulia Tru, founder of Beetested (a platform that analyzes player emotions through AI and game analysis); Alfonso Rodríguez-Ponga, CFO of Póntica Artes (a development studio working on “Plus Ultra: Legado”, a 2D adventure and platform title about the Discovery of America) and Luis Fernández Pola, founder of Alvearium (a multi-device One-Stop-Shop for immersive experiences of everyday activities for shopping, tourism, leisure, etc.).
With the presence of Madrid in Game at the MWC we seek to publicize all the initiatives that are being carried out in the video game industry, but also of entrepreneurship and innovation in this sector with what is undoubtedly the most ambitious accelerator in Europe in the field of video games. The goal is to attract companies from all over the world to the city of Madrid and for this we will have the presence of 13 companies from our entrepreneurship program.
