Madrid In Game celebrates the first basketball tournament that combines competition in video game and on the court

After the opening to the public of the Esports Center as a high performance esports center, on May 20 and 21, Madrid In Gamean initiative of the Madrid City Council, is organizing in the Campus del Videojuego of Casa de Campo the first edition of Esports + Sports. A tournament phygital – integration between the physical and digital world – free and open to all audiences and ages that aims to revolutionize the competitive landscape taking it to a new level by combining sport and esports.

A competition that unites tradition and innovation to revolutionize the practice, sports leisure, encourage physical activity, the development of technological skills and promote the exciting esports culture. This pioneering tournament was created with the objective of creating a community of basketball lovers where a meeting point between NBA 2K23 video game players and basketball players will be established. The objective is to promote values such as teamwork and the creation of strategies The aim is to promote sportsmanship by using classic and virtual sports as a transversal axis of union.

Participants will play a minimum of three games in the video game. NBA 2K23 and three games on the basketball court.. The scores obtained by each team both on the console and on the court will be added together to define the qualified teams that will advance in the table to the finals. Console games will have a duration of 10 minutes; physical games, on the other hand, are limited by points and time: 10 minutes or 21 points.

The qualifying rounds will be composed of 12 teams of four players that will be divided into three different categories: 13-15 years, 16-18 years and seniors from 18. In addition, Outconsumer, Vituber, Atiga and Misho.four of the most relevant NBA 2K influencers in Spain, will attend this important event at the Madrid In Game Video Game Campus and will interact with the public throughout the weekend. The first edition of Esports + Sports will have more than 140 participants who will fight to become the first hybrid basketball and video game champions of the city. The qualifiers will take place throughout Saturday, May 20 (from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm and 4:30 pm to 9:00 pm) and the morning of Sunday, May 21 (from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm).
