The League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) returns this Saturday to LVP (GRUP MEDIAPRO), which repeats one more year as official channel in Spanish of all international competitions of the Riot Games game.
The European tournament will be played every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and will once again have a large Spanish representation. The LEC will have seven Spanish players this season: Razork and Oscarinin, in Fnatic; Myrwn, ElYoya, Supa and Álvaro, in Movistar KOI; and Flakked in Team Heretics. If we take into account the benches, the Spanish representation reaches 13 adding Gaax (Fnatic), Melzhet (Movistar KOI), OWNER and Garih (SK Gaming) and Machuki and Naruterador (Team Heretics).
G2 Esports starts as a great rival to beat after sweeping 2024, where it was champion of the winter, spring and summer seasons, to end up closing a full of titles in the LEC Finals 2024. The Samurai had already won the 2023 summer season and the LEC Finals of the same year, so they have accumulated the last six continental titles.
The winter season takes on special relevance this year in the international League of Legends calendar, as the champion of each region will earn the right to participate in the First Stand. This is a new tournament, similar to the MSI, which brings together the five champions of each region in South Korea. One of the particularities of the First Stand is that it introduces the “Hard Fearless Draft” model, whereby teams can only choose each champion once per series. A group stage will be used to eliminate one of the teams, with the other four teams advancing to the semifinals in a single elimination bracket to determine the champion.
The official Spanish broadcast of the First Stand, as well as the rest of the international League of Legends tournaments, will take place on LVP’s Twitch channel. The first stop will be this Saturday, at the start of the Winter LEC, with the usual team of LVP commentators.
