The South Korean League of Legends (LoL) esports scene comes alive with celebrations of its most prominent players and personalities. To cap off a season that has been dominated by League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK), the LCK Awards 2024 are coming soon.
More than 1,000 spectators are expected to attend the ceremony on December 29, 2024. Meanwhile, overseas fans will be able to watch it through the LCK’s official YouTube channel, starting at 5PM KST.
Celebration of the best of LCK 2024
The prestigious LCK Awards 2024 presents its fourth edition and will bring together LCK teams and professionals to witness the recognition of the league’s brightest stars this year. The ceremony will take place at Art Hall 1 of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.

In addition, awards will also be presented to teams, coaches and other outstanding personalities for their contribution to the extraordinary year the league has experienced.
Award nominations and categories
As expected, the list of nominees for the roleplaying awards is made up of players from only three LCK teams.
Gen.G Esports, Hanwha Life Esports and T1 have earned a spot at the top of the LCK 2024 scoreboard. Both the team as a whole and its individual players have performed very well this year, so the fight for the prizes has been very intense.

Nominated competitive teams
Thanks in large part to these three teams, the year has been remarkable for the LCK and its fans. It’s also why each team has a strong case for recognition, making the guesswork of who will take home the awards more difficult:
Gen.G – won the Spring Split and MSI 2024, making history by winning their fourth consecutive Spring Championship. This feat is especially significant, as no other team had ever achieved this before, earning them the title of “Domestic Kings” or “LCK Kings”.
Their MSI trophy is also an important victory, as it brought the title back to the LCK after seven years. The LCK “superteam” seemed poised to win more, with their sights set on the LCK Summer Championships and victories at the 2024 World Championships.
HLE – The team that cut short their majestic “golden route”? Hanwha Life Esports, who turned the tables on their LCK rivals in the most crucial match. HLE, for the first time since joining the league in 2018, claimed an LCK Summer Championship trophy, and did it in the best possible way. Thanks to a truly dominant comeback, they snatched the victory from the hands of Gen.G, and went into the 2024 Worlds with an impressive performance.
T1 – When we talk about World Championships, everything always seems to lead to T1, which claims the tournament as its “home ground”. After a poor run in the national championship and their first and only loss in the Swiss phase, T1 became an unbeatable titan. Their superb performance at Worlds 2024 earned them their fifth Summoner’s Cup, cementing their place as legends of the scene. Of course, that’s qualification enough to have them as nominees for the LCK 2024 Awards as well.
The LCK Awards 2024 will cap off the League of Legends competitive season. From national domination to global spectacles, the teams of this league empire never fail to impress. It’s only fitting that their skills, which make LCK renowned, are recognized and honored.
We can also look forward to the exciting changes coming for the 2025 season. Format changes, in particular, may usher in new stars. It will certainly be another season of achievements to celebrate.
