Over the years and months, many people have questioned the identity of the creator of the first crypto-currency. Is John McAfee the creator of Bitcoin?

In a recent video, TikTok influencer Harry the Soul Coach claimed that John McAfee is the creator of Bitcoin. Explaining his reason, he explained that the alleged creator of Bitcoin had the resources since he developed McAfee.

“John McAfee is the creator of Bitcoin. If we go back and look at his background, he created the internet security software McAfee in 1987. So he had backdoor access at the time.”

More interestingly, the social media influencer claimed in the video that McAfee is still alive. This contradicts the news of his death in 2021, which said that the American-British computer guru was found dead in an apparent suicide by hanging in his prison cell. Apparently, McAfee was arrested in Spain for tax fraud and was going to be sent to the United States. However, his wife, Janice McAfee, claimed that her husband could not have committed suicide. Janice believes that the suicide is not a fake. Other questions arise. Is McAfee really the creator of bitcoin? What if he is still alive according to the claims? Is he dead? Did he commit suicide? Was he murdered? What is the connection between his disappearance and the hypothesis that he is the mysterious creator of Bitcoin?

McAfee’s Position on Blockchain

Before his arrest and death, McAfee gave numerous interviews that showed that he was very knowledgeable about blockchain. In one of his interviews, he stated:

“Blockchain is the first technology that didn’t come from the bowels of the government or a military black program. It didn’t come from IBM, Microsoft, Apple, Samsung or any other company. And the technology, by and large, is open source – it’s available to everyone. This is a watershed moment in the evolution of the human mind. The first application of blockchain was crypto-currency. And the first application of crypto-currency was bitcoin, which has far exceeded its life expectancy. But there’s no privacy. You can’t put smart contracts on this blockchain.”

If no one knows the person or group of people who created bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto is the name adopted to address the alleged pseudonymous person.
