Iran claims to have arrested three people for allegedly spying for Israel’s Mossad

MADRID, 21 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

Iranian security forces have arrested three people for allegedly carrying out espionage for Israel, as confirmed by the Iranian Intelligence Ministry, which has not specified the identity or nationality of the detainees.

The Intelligence Ministry has stated that the three suspects have been detained in the province of Sistan and Baluchistan (southeast) and has added that they were involved in the dissemination of classified information and documents, according to the Iranian television network Press TV.

Iranian authorities announced in July 2021 the arrest of several members of an alleged Mossad espionage network in the west of the country, adding that weapons and ammunition had been seized during the operation.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi warned Israel on Monday against making “the slightest mistake” against Tehran, stressing that such a situation would lead to an attack on “the center of the Zionist regime.” “If (the Israeli authorities) make the slightest mistake, our response will be given to the center of the Zionist regime and our Armed Forces will not allow them to relax,” he said.
