The League of Legends World Championshipalso known as “Worlds” is coming back to South Korea, from October 10 to November 19, teams from around the world will compete for the biggest international title. The World Cup will start in Seoul, travel to Busan and return to the Sky Dome in Seoul.where the two finalist teams will face each other to decide who will win the Summoner’s Cup.
The Mid-Season Invitational 2022 took place in Busan, and during the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, tours were held in various cities in Korea.
Korea is synonymous with excellence in esports and video games, with a very passionate fan community and a great legacy in developing some of the best players in the world. We are very excited to bring the World Cup back to the birthplace of esports and home of the LCK. Qualifier
In the new World Cup format 22 teams will participate in three phases of competition. The OPENING PHASE will be held between October 10 and 15 at LoL Park in Seoul. The Swiss phase will be held from October 19-23 and 26-29 at the KBS Arena in Seoul.
The qualifiers include the quarterfinals, semifinals and final. The quarterfinals will take place from November 2 to 5, and the semi-finals on the 11th and 12th, all of them at the Sajik Indoor Gymnasium in Busan. The World Cup final will be held on November 19 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome, the country’s largest indoor venue and home of the Seoul Kiwoom Heroes baseball team.
The World Cup final will take place later than usual to support the 19th Asian Gameswhich will be held between September 23 and October 8 in Hangzhou, China. For the first time, League of Legends and six other esports titles will be included as medal events.
Tickets
Tickets will officially go on sale on three specific days: those for the opening phase will become available on. July 10those of the Swiss phase on July 19 and the playoff tickets will go on sale on August 2.
