The Horizon series has not been idle over the past few months, with the launch of Horizon Call of the Mountain for PS VR2, followed by the release of Burning Shores, the expansion of Forbidden West. Not surprisingly, Guerrilla has much more in store for the franchise. Indeed, work has already begun on the next mainline installment in the Horizon series.
In a recent update detailing changes in Guerrilla’s management, with co-studio head Angie Smets getting a new position at PlayStation Studios, the studio confirmed that in addition to the previously confirmed Horizon multiplayer game, it is also working on the Horizon Forbidden West sequel.
“We have every confidence in our new leadership as they lead Guerrilla into a bright future, expanding the world of Horizon with Aloy’s next adventure and our exciting online project,” the developer wrote.
This is not the first time Guerrilla has suggested that it is already working on Horizon 3. When it confirmed last year that it was working on a multiplayer title, the studio also said that it “continues to create epic solo adventures for Aloy.”
About 10 minutes of early development gameplay footage of the multiplayer title leaked earlier this year, while job postings have also suggested that the game could also be released for mobile devices.
Meanwhile, leaks have claimed that an enhanced PS5 remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn is also in development, but it is reportedly not being developed in-house by Guerrilla.
