Influencer David Gokhshtein thinks bitcoin has finally bottomed out.

Meanwhile, a Bloomberg analyst believes that while next year may still be a tough one for risk assets, including bitcoin, the flagship crypto-currency will find a headwind.

“I’m glad that Bitcoin has finally bottomed.”

David Gokhshtein believes that the leading digital currency has finally hit bottom and will now begin to gradually reverse and head north.

In an earlier tweet, however, the Gokhshtein Media founder admitted that he did not believe bitcoin would reach the widely accepted $1,000,000 level in the next few years. Instead, he pointed to a much more modest price forecast for bitcoin – $250,000 per coin. That’s the price he’d be comfortable with, according to the tweet.

Possible tailwind for bitcoin in 2023

Jamie Coutts, a crypto-currency market analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence, tweeted yesterday that he thinks the upcoming year of 2023 could remain problematic for risk assets as the recession could persist.

However, as global liquidity measures begin to turn (a reference to a recent statement made by the Federal Reserve chairman, perhaps, on reducing interest rate hikes), a tailwind for bitcoin could be created, as well as “the tentative beginning of a new cycle.

A leading expert at Standard Chartered Bank, Eric Robertsen – the bank’s global head of research – estimates that by 2023, bitcoin could continue to fall and reach a low of $5,000.

The plunge, if it happens, he said in a note Sunday, would be due to the recent collapse of the FTX exchange. Robertsen believes investor interest will turn to gold, which could be up 30% next year, and away from the “digital gold“, the bitcoin.

Curiously, prominent venture capitalist Tim Draper, known for his support of bitcoin, recently confirmed his earlier prediction that BTC would reach the $250,000 mark. Previously, he claimed that BTC would reach that level in 2022, but he has now added another half year and places the likelihood of such an event in mid-2023.

At the time of this writing, bitcoin is changing hands at $16,990, remaining near the $17,000 level so far.
