Howard University (USA) evacuates its students for the second time in 48 hours due to bomb threats.

Howard University President Wayne Frederick announced Friday that the school has received two bomb threats in 48 hours and has ordered students to evacuate their dormitories.

Frederick has labeled these bomb threats as “terrorism.” He also added that the latest threat received this Friday would be the eighth according to the figures collected this year, according to the newspaper ‘The Hill’.

“For the second time in 48 hours, students had to evacuate university residences during the last hours of a school night,” he said. “This is terrorism and it must stop,” he added.

The school president has called for more police support: he would talk to “as many law enforcement agencies and federal elected officials as possible” to “ensure that the gravity of this situation is elevated and prioritized.”

“We require additional resources from all law enforcement agencies aimed at resolving this ongoing threat and bringing those who perpetrate its negative effects to full justice under the law,” he has reiterated.
