Heroes Dutch Comic Con is coming together with Marvel in action for War Child, a non-profit organization that provides children with the space and resources to play, grow and be free. To bring in donations and help as many children as possible, Holland’s largest Comic Con is hosting an auction in partnership with none other than the super talented artists who make up Marvel Comics’ Stormbreakers artist class of 2023.
Auction
During a special live session on Sunday, June 25, the Marvel Stormbreakers will collectively appear on stage to create a one-of-a-kind work of art. The final result will then be auctioned off on the same stage by host Brainpower. All proceeds will go to War Child. Sunday at noon, Marvel’s Stormbreakers will start the live session. In just 30 minutes, they will deliver the pomp. After that, Brainpower will take over and get the audience to bid on this unique work of art after which the auction hammer will sound at the highest bid.
Marvel’s Stormbreakers
The Marvel’s Stormbreakers program spotlights the best emerging artists in the comics industry. The artists who will be present at the convention are Elena Casagrande, Jan Bazaldúa, Chris Allen, Martin Coccolo, Lucas Werneck, C.F. Villa and Federico Vicentini. These talented artists, who work on the world’s most famous comic books and characters from Marvel Comics, will participate in panels and can also be found at their tables in the Comics Area, where they will meet and greet Marvel Comics fans, and where visitors can purchase art work from them. Especially for comics fans, there will be a special Marvel’s Stormbreakers kiosk, full of comics drawn by Marvel’s Stormbreakers. The first 200 visitors who make a purchase at this kiosk will receive a free A0 size poster that they can have signed by the creators.
War Child & Heroes Dutch Comic Con
Both organizations take action to help children from war zones grow up as happy, safe and free as possible. Unfortunately, some 230 million children grow up in conflict areas and live in fear and uncertainty as a result. War Child creates safe places for children at war, where they can play and learn. Through sports and game activities, the organization helps these children give their traumatic experiences a place to belong, so they can build a future again. The summer edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con features the charity with the “War Child Safe Space. Here visitors can experience how the aid organization operates. In addition to the auction, prizes will be given away to visitors who donate.
