France imposes water restrictions in 88 French departments due to drought

French authorities have imposed water restrictions in 88 departments of the country under the drought alert that has particularly affected regions in the west of the country, such as Pays de la Loire or Poitou-Charentes, as well as in the east, case of Isère.

In the department of Ile-de-France, the 60 municipalities in the catchment areas of the Orge and Rémarde rivers entered Thursday in a state of alert by decree of the prefecture, reports the BFMTV channel.

The French meteorological service does not show good prospects between now and the beginning of August: almost no rain is expected during the next two weeks, with the exception of the Pyrenees and the Alps.
