Cameraman Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra Kuvshinova, who worked for the American television network Fox News, died on Tuesday as a result of an attack on Monday near the Ukrainian capital, kyiv.

In the first place, the chain has confirmed the death of Zakrzewski, although later it has also lamented the death of Kuvshinova, who worked as an assistant to journalist Benjamin Hall, who was also injured in the attack.

In fact, the CEO of Fox News, Suzzane Scott, has acknowledged that it has taken longer to report Kuvshinova’s death out of respect for her family with whom the network, she has assured, has been in contact “at all times” and to whom he has sent his condolences.

The Fox News board has recalled the “passion and talent” of the cameraman, who offered his services in conflicts such as Iraq, Afghanistan or Syria, as well as the “incredible talent” of Kuvshinova, who was just 24 years old and helped Hall with the translations and indicated the routes through the capital.

Hall, Zakrzewski and Kuvshinova were covering the conflict in Ukraine when the vehicle they were traveling in was attacked. The journalist is still hospitalized and Scott has wished him a speedy recovery.

The Human Rights Commissioner of the Ukrainian Parliament, Liudmila Denisova, has put at least three journalists killed in the country in the context of the conflict. Later, the adviser to the Ministry of the Interior, Anton Gerashchenko, has recognized the death of Zakrzewski and Kuvshinova, with which the balance increases to at least five dead professionals.

According to Denisova, “the Russian occupiers are fighting objective coverage of their war crimes in Ukraine” and are “killing and shooting” journalists covering events in the country.

In addition, he has denounced that Russia is trying to “impose racist propaganda and ideology and suppress all other information resources” and that, for this, over the last few weeks it has attacked the television towers of kyiv, Lutsk and Rivne .
