Sherlock Holmes starring Henry Cavill takes center stage in the first filming of Netflix’s Enola Holmes 2. In 2020, Netflix debuted the first film adaptation of Nancy Springer’s best-selling books, Enola Holmes.
The series follows the adventures of Enola, the younger sister of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes. The Netflix movie stars Millie Bobby Brown as Enola and stars in her first case, which involves her missing mother (Helena Bonham Carter) and a young runaway marquis (Louis Partridge). The cast also includes Susan Wokoma, Adeel Akhtar, Sam Claflin and Fiona Shaw.
Following the successful release of Enola Holmes on Netflix in September 2020, there has been talk of a sequel that could go into development. Director Harry Bradbeer has signaled interest in returning, but it wasn’t until May 2021 that Netflix confirmed that Enola Holmes 2 would soon be a reality.
Enola Holmes is on Netflix, the second part will be released this year
Brown, Cavill, Partridge and Carter are ready to return, while newcomers to the cast are David Thewlis and Sharon Duncan-Brewster. Filming for Enola Holmes 2 began in mid-2021 and ended in January this year.
Although no release date has been announced yet, Netflix has released a preview of the 2022 movies. Within 1 minute and 5 seconds of the trailer below, Enola can be seen running through the crowded streets of London.
Enola Holmes 2 is ready to tell the story from Springer’s second book, The Case of the Left-Handed Lady. In it, Enola is investigating the disappearance of a young girl. However, she may need help solving the mystery. As the new Enola Holmes 2 movie shows, the two brothers will reunite at some point.
Since Enola Holmes 2 just finished filming last month, it looks like it won’t premiere on Netflix anytime soon. Most likely, it is heard that later this year.
