Despite Pocketpair’s Palworld getting all the hype and attention, Keen Games’ Enshrouded still managed to attract a respectable number of players. Four days after it launched in early access, the developer confirmed that the survival crafting title had attracted more than one million players.
“We are completely overwhelmed by the success and overwhelmingly positive reception. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank all of our players.” It had a peak competition total of 160,405 players about 20 hours ago, according to SteamDB. Although there have been peaks and valleys since launch, the peak player count has steadily increased.
Enshrouded is only available for PC via Steam Early Access – check out our review here. It is set in the ruins of a fantasy world, with a dangerous Nebula swallowing up almost everything. As the Fireborn, players must claim a place, rescue NPCs and venture into cloaked areas to eventually push back the treacherous mist.
Like Valheim, players can create elaborate bases, create and discover powerful equipment and gear, and take on powerful bosses. It supports up to 16 players on a single map, with everything handcrafted and lots of content to explore.
