Mantis Games has a chilling update out for their horror game Deck of Haunts on Friday, June 13. The new Nightmare update not only adds creepy challenges, but also introduces the terrifying Nightmare Mode-an intense test of strategy and endurance.

Nightmare Mode – Survive 13 layers of pure fear

In this mode, you must prove yourself by enduring 13 consecutive nightmares. Each nightmare consists of 13 cursed nights, in which the difficulty keeps increasing. You will have to deal with unique groups of people with specific traits and modifiers that make the game increasingly challenging. And if that’s not enough, the Grim Reaper is constantly lurking on your soul.

With every death or madness you cause, you collect souls. Collect 13 and you can summon the Grim Reaper to instantly harvest a human of your choice. If you reach the end of the 13 nightmares, you unlock the special Crypt Room, where you can even use the Grim Reaper in future games!

Unlockables in Nightmare Mode:

• New cards: Corpse Explosion and Sleep Paralysis

New Trap Starter Deck

Players who reach level 12 unlock an all-new starter deck with a focus on traps. Use these cards to spread cunning ambushes and indirect fear among overconfident adventurers.
