Copenhagen to host Major 1 of the RLCS 2024

The Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) has announced that its first Major of the year will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark. It will be held at the K.B. Hallen Arenawith a capacity of 4,500 spectators, from the March 28-31, and 16 qualified teams will compete for a prize of $255,000.

The teams will only compete live on March 30 and 31.and tickets will go on sale later this week. This is the first time a Rocket League arena has been held in Denmark. In addition to the prizes, the teams will also compete for RLCS points.points, which contribute to the qualification for the Rocket League World Championship.

For the 2024 season, the tournament organizer. BLAST will manage the RLCS alongside Epic Games’ FNCS (Fortnite) ecosystem.. The change in operation coincides with numerous changes in the format of the competition.including the reduction of the RLCS compared to last season.

In total, the RLCS will hold two Majors and the Rocket League World Championship in September. Despite the criticism, the new RLCS qualification format generated a significant increase in viewership. Specifically, EU Open Qualifier 1 peaked at 413,177 viewers, according to Esports Charts. This is the second highest peak viewership for a Rocket League esports event, second only to the RLCS 2022-23 World Championship with 468,292 viewers.
