A sneaky koala in Australia has worked to undermine the country’s koala population. Known as Claude the koala, this slippery marsupial has terrorized himself and stuffed himself with plants growing in a seedling nursery, which is tasked with producing plants that will grow and enhance the overall koala population.
According to BBC News, Claude reportedly consumed about £3,000 worth of eucalyptus plants from the Eastern Forest Nursery in New South Wales. After catching the furry thief in action, the nursery has now looked to build a fence around its seedlings to prevent Claude from further snacking.
On how the nursery discovered that it was Claude who stripped his seedlings, owner Humphrey Herington stated that he found Claude at the scene of the crime and that he “looked like he was full. He looked very pleased with himself”.
