Tested in the pre-production environment of Cardano Earlier this month, the upgrade should mainly benefit the interoperability of decentralized applications and securing cross-chain developments with Plutus, the blockchain’s smart contract platform.
” Interoperability Is the key to the growth of blockchain. As more and more DApps are built on Cardano , it is essential that they are not siloed into a single ecosystem, allowing users to interact with different blockchains and access a wider range of services.” explained Input Output.
In a blog post published in January, the Hong Kong-based company stated that Plutus would now support ECDSA and Schnorr signatures to give developers more choices in terms of signature design (multi and threshol) natively in Cardano.
The market seems to have welcomed the news. The price of the blockchain cryptocurrency, ADAis up by more than 8% over 24 hours to about $0.39. The market capitalization of the token now exceeds $13.5 billion.
