At least three Mexican Navy soldiers die and two are wounded after helicopter crash

At least three members of the Mexican Navy have died and two were injured this Saturday after the helicopter in which they were traveling crashed while on a reconnaissance tour in the vicinity of Frontera, in the state of Tabasco, which borders the Gulf of Mexico.

The Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) has informed that the aircraft was a Eurocopte and has assured that the corresponding investigations will be carried out to determine the causes of the accident, according to the Mexican newspaper ‘El Universal’.

In a statement, the Semar regretted the death of the soldiers who “in life showed signs of being exemplary sailors committed to the country”. In addition, it has assured that the corresponding support will be provided to the families of the deceased.

The Semar has also thanked and acknowledged the quick response of the population of the municipality of Tabasco who have supported the wounded who were later transferred to the Frontera Naval Hospital to receive specialized medical care.
