At least one dead and almost a dozen missing after seaplane crashes in Washington State (USA)

At least one person is dead and nine are missing after a seaplane crashed Sunday in the Puget Sound in the western U.S. state of Washington.

The body of one woman has been recovered, the ‘Seattle Times’ newspaper has learned, which has clarified that the preliminary report put the number of people on board the aircraft at eight adults and one child, but that the Coast Guard later updated the toll.

“A surface safety zone has been placed around the crash site,” the U.S. Coast Guard reported on its Twitter account.
