Ubisoft offered a fun little mini-Assassin’s Creed adventure in 2023 (by the series’ standards, at least) in the form of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, but with the next game in the series, Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, it is returning to its massive, open-world RPG structure. So far, other than the fact that it is set in feudal Japan, we know very little about the game, but it is claimed that this could change in the relatively near future.
According to @BunnyTheVillain – who is part of the Ubisoft Creators Program – Assassin’s Creed Codename Red will be formally announced in May, with a gameplay unveiling during an Ubisoft Forward showcase in July. The content creator – who claims to have gotten the information from “a reliable source” – will release the game in November.
Last year, a post on LinkedIn from an Ubisoft employee suggested that Assassin’s Creed Codename Red would release sometime in 2024, something that has also been claimed in multiple leaks. In September, it was also reported by journalist Tom Henderson that the game would be shown in early 2024.
Henderson also claimed that the game would feature two playable protagonists – a male samurai and a female shinobi – and stealth-focused mechanics inspired by the Splinter Cell series. It is also reported that Codename Red’s modern Abstergo story will be set in the future.
