Assassin’s Creed Codename RED targets release in 2024, says LinkedIn post – That’s Gaming

Ubisoft will release Assassin’s Creed Mirage this year, but Assassin’s Creed’s next main game is codenamed RED. It is set in Feudal Japan and is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, known for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Although Ubisoft has not announced a release date, it could be aiming for a 2024 release.

This is according to a LinkedIn post by Arisa Lagunzad, executive business development and brand partnership at Ubisoft, recently discovered by Access the Animus on Twitter. The translation said, “We are looking for a sponsor partner for this title Assassin’s Creed Codename RED for next year” and touted it as the “biggest blockbuster”.

Insider Gaming reported last February that the title was aiming for a 2024 release and would have two protagonists – a samurai and a shinobi. It also focuses on stealth and, despite earlier reports of development problems, is reportedly in good shape.

Whether Ubisoft will provide more information in the coming months remains to be seen, especially with titles like XDefiant and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora still to come. Marc-Alexis Côté, VP executive producer for the series, therefore said that Codename RED would be supported “many years with expansions” and “a lot of things I won’t reveal.” Stay tuned for further updates in the meantime.
