No sooner has the latest member of the iPhone 14 series, the new 14 Plus model, been released in stores than Apple is already preparing for the launch of the iPhone 15 series. Of course, hardware development of the next models is always ongoing, but now there’s also confirmation of when Apple expects to launch the next generation of smartphones in 2023. It looks like, just like this year, the iPhone 15 will hit stores very early in September.
iPhone 15 already has a set release date
According to MacRumors, which cites an Apple employee in the UK who provided statements on condition of anonymity, Apple expects to have “heavy traffic in stores” between September 15 and October 7, 2023. That’s because employees have been getting messages already that they won’t be able to take time off during this period, when the new generation of phones will most likely launch.
Also, along with this message, Apple employees have been informed that they won’t be able to take time off either between December 2, 2023 and early January 2024, during the holiday season, when there are a lot of sales.
Given that next year Apple is rumored to finally make the switch from Lightning to USB-C, it’s likely the new iPhone 15 models will be in high demand in Apple’s physical stores. The new series could adopt Dynamic Island on all variants, not just the Pro, but at the moment we have no other concrete information on this.
At the moment, Apple hasn’t even finished the launches it has scheduled for 2022. New iPad Pro 2022 models with the M2 processor, a new basic iPad with a new design, and MacBook Pros with M2 Pro and M2 Max processors are all expected to be released before the end of October. However, it looks like Apple won’t be holding an unveiling event for these, as they are mostly incremental hardware updates.
