Apple confirms “Far Out” event dedicated to new iPhone 14 models. When is the launch

Rumors over the past few weeks have suggested that the date Apple will unveil the new iPhone models won’t happen on the day we expected. Those rumors have been confirmed again, as the company has officially announced the launch event for the iPhone 14 series. It will be called “Far Out” and will take place on a Wednesday, September 7. The launch date probably won’t be moved, taking place a week later.

The iPhone 14 series will be the “star” of the new event

Apple’s “Far Out” event has a space theme and will take place after several years of online events right at Apple headquarters, where members of the press will be present.

Expected at the new event are the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro phones, with new changes from previous years. In the case of the iPhone 14, the upgrade might just be to the display options, with a brand-new iPhone 14 Max coming in between the standard and Pro models. No major hardware upgrades are expected internally, though.

The iPhone 14 Pro models will finally ditch the “notch” in favor of cutouts in the screen for the front-facing camera and TrueDepth sensor for Face ID, and they’ll get new cameras and a more powerful processor: the A16 Bionic. It seems that the star theme might suggest that Apple could introduce a new starry sky shooting option.

In addition to the new iPhone models, Apple could also introduce the new Apple Watch Series 8 lineup, which could now incorporate a new, more expensive and more powerful “Pro” model. Finally, there are rumors of a new generation AirPods Pro, with improved speakers and next-generation ANC.

We’re now less than two weeks away from this event, so all the official details about the iPhone 14, Apple Watch 8 and AirPods will be officially announced very soon.
