MADRID, June 1 (Royals Blue) –
An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 on the Richter scale has left several dead and injured on Wednesday after shaking the city of Yaan, in the southwestern province of Sichuan, according to the China Earthquake Network Center (CENC).
At least one person has died and six others have been injured, according to the Xinhua news agency, although the CCTV network speaks of at least four fatalities and fourteen injured.
The epicenter of the shock, with a depth of 17 kilometers, has been recorded in Lushan county, while one of the aftershocks of magnitude 4.5 has hit the Baoxing district, where these people would have died.

The Chinese Ministry of Emergency Management has activated alert level 3. More than 800 workers from the rescue services, emergencies, Police and the Fire Department have been sent to the affected areas.
