Award-winning comic book author Jason Aaron is taking over as writer of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. IDW publishing is currently working on a relaunch of the TMNT comics, as it seems the Turtles now have a lot of fresh eyes on them after the success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
“Launching a new TMNT comics series in the midst of the characters’ 40th anniversary is clearly one of those dream jobs of all comic book dreams,” he said. Aaron told Comicbook.com. “Especially for me, a kid who first fell in love with the Turtles all those years ago because of that original Mirage Studios series, which bought groundbreaking issues fresh off the rack, comics that kicked you in the face with their action-packed grit and gloriously raw attitude. I couldn’t be more honored and excited to add to that prized legacy of face-kicking in comics, especially as part of an amazing IDW run that has expanded the world and timeline of the Turtles in such bold and exciting ways.”
IDW has been publishing Turtles comics since 2011 and will wrap up its current run in July to relaunch the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Aaron’s fresh perspective. Will you check out the new line of comics?
