A new edition of UNIVERSITY Esports is back

UNIVERSITY Esportsthe largest esports, technology and education project developed for university students around the world, returns to Spain with a new edition. Last season, the following participated 100% of public universities of the national territory, consolidating the 8 years of development of the project and holding the finals on-site at Alicante.

The ninth season of UNIVERSITY Esports has begun and as of this Tuesday any university student interested in participating can join the project, which once again has the support of brands such as Intel and Riot Games. The goal is to promote the involvement of students in the esports sector through the competitionthe training and the job opportunitieswhile offering fun y entertainment thanks to the different activities that are part of the project.

First Split, on the way to GAMERGY

The competition is divided into two Splits totally independent of each other. During the months of October and December, the students will participate in UNIVERSITY Esports GAMERGY Qualifierwhich is one of the most ambitious changes in the history of UNIVERSITY Esports. Teams may consist of players from different universities. The objective of this Split is to facilitate the participation of any university student who wants to be part of the project with the aim of competing in the biggest esports and gaming event in Spain: GAMERGY 2023where the finals of this first part of the season will be held.

Through four qualifiers, teams will be able to participate in games such as. League of Legends, VALORANT, Teamfight Tactics o Rocket League. The best teams will qualify for the playoffs, which will be played online, but will give access to the finals in GAMERGY.

The second split, the essence of UNIVERSITY

UNIVERSITY Esports Tournament is the name chosen for the second Split, which will be held between February and May 2024 and will maintain the essence that has always characterized UNIVERSITY EsportsThe teams must be composed of the following members players from the same university. With a competition format similar to that of the first part of the season, the qualifiers will give way to a playoffs that will serve as a prelude to the Grand National Finalwhich will be held in person.

The teams of the second Split will be able to achieve a pass to. UNIVERSITY Esports Mastersthe largest European competition in the university environment, which in its last edition counted with the participation of more than 680 qualified players from 21 countries.

UNIVERSITY TOUR, a key piece in the development of the project.

Considered as a cultural and leisure activity for the enjoyment of the students, UNIVERSITY TOUR is back as never before. The project will visit eight universities throughout Spain, where students will be able to enjoy a fanzone and a game arena, as well as win prizes and official items from UNIVERSITY Esports. In addition, the following will be organized talks with top-level speakers and relevant figures from the esports-gaming sector, which will help university students to broaden their working vision y discover industry roles and professions..

Prize pool

Over the course of this new edition, a total prize pool of. 20.000€ between the first and the second Split, corresponding to the monetary prizes for the winners and the competition experiences for all participants.
