Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dimitro Kuleba on Tuesday urged the international community to reduce Russia’s access to shipping in retaliation for its invasion of Ukraine.
“The export-oriented Russian economy is significantly dependent on foreign shipping and fleets,” the head of Ukrainian diplomacy explained in a message spread via his Twitter account.
Therefore, he has qualified, he has asked the partners “to restrict Russia’s access to their services in order to stop (Vladimir) Putin’s war machine.” “What Russia exports today to the world is death, crisis and lies”, he has asserted.
Kuleba’s words come after Lithuania decided to restrict transit to the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad following the entry into force of sanctions imposed by the European Union. Moscow, however, has insisted that this violates international agreements.
