The Government of Japan announced on Tuesday that it will deliver protective masks and clothing against chemical weapons, as well as commercial drones, to Ukraine, while announcing new sanctions against Russia for the invasion of Ukraine, including a ban on the import of products, including the vodka

The Japanese Defense Minister, Nobio Kishi, has stressed that Tokyo “will continue to give as much support as possible to the Ukrainian government” and added that the decision has been adopted after a request made by kyiv, according to the Japanese agency of Kiodo news.

The Japanese authorities have also detailed that the sanctions affect the importation of 38 products that account for about 1.1 percent of imports from the Asian country and have a value of about 16,000 million yen (about 116 million euros).

In this regard, the Japanese Economy Minister, Koichi Hagiuda, has acknowledged that the country’s population is concerned about the impact of the war on their daily lives and has promised that Tokyo “will study in depth emergency measures to respond quickly to the effects (of the conflict) on people’s lives and economic activities”.
