China defends that Russia is part of the G20 and warns that no member “has the right to expel” Moscow

The Chinese Foreign Ministry has defended this Wednesday that Russia is part of the G20 and has stressed that no member “has the right to expel” the country from the group in the framework of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin has insisted that “Russia is an important member of the G20” after the United States and several of its allies have put on the table the possibility of expelling Russia.

Thus, he stressed that the fight against the coronavirus pandemic is still at a “vital” moment and pointed out that the economic recovery “for now is weak”, for which the G20 has “important responsibilities” when leading this struggle, according to information from the CGTN television network.

“The G20 must make use of true multilateralism to strengthen solidarity and cooperation, work together and address economic, financial and development challenges,” he said.
