Dimensity 9000, more powerful than the Exynos and Snapdragon alternatives, according to Geekbench

According to the latest benchmarks, the Dimensity 9000 chipset from MediaTek is faster than rivals Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Exynos 2200, being surpassed only by the A15 Bionic solution found on Apple phones.

Thus, the MediaTek chipset would get a score of over 4500 points in the multi-core test, respectively 1300 points in the single-core test, surpassing any other competitor in the Android segment. The problem is that in the absence of an already officially launched device and the ability to test results from multiple sources, the scores in the Geekbench catalog could easily be falsified.

Dimensity 9000 uses the 4nm manufacturing process and includes a high-performance ARM Cortex-X2 core CPU, as well as alternatives developed by Samsung and Qualcomm. However, MediaTek has stated that the chipset has over 35% better performance compared to the previous generation of Android chipsets (eg Snapdragon 888), and more than 37% better power consumption. Meanwhile, the promises on the performance side have become even more optimistic, but without the claims being concretely proven.

Attributed to a chipset delivered by a Chinese manufacturer known for the habit of “optimizing” more than the performance measured in benchmarks, the news that Dimensity 9000 gets Geekbench 5 scores (single-core and multi-core) considerably above the level of the main competitors probably that it should not be taken very seriously, at least until the results can be confirmed from multiple sources.

Apparently, behind the cryptic name Xiaomi 22011211C is actually the model Redmi K50 Pro Plus, a candidate for the budget flagship title, which has not yet seen the light of day.

For comparison, the “official” performance of the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s Exynos 2200 chipset (before being excluded for falsifying the results) is 1157 and 3307 points (single / multi-core). At the other extreme, we have the iPhone 13 Pro Max with 1737 and 4818 points in Geekbench 5, at least for now, without suspicion of falsifying the results.
