It’s official: a new Star Trek feature is preparing for release: when we can see it

Paramount has decided to reunite the Enterprise “gang.” Unfortunately, I am not referring to the original Star Trek series, but to the natural and extremely current sequel, coming from the director JJ Abrams.

He resumed his franchise in 2009, when he released the first Star Trek-based film of his career. He later released two more films from the same series, which unfortunately did not enjoy the success expected by Abrams, despite the undisputed talent of actor Chris Pine, but also the resemblance to the young version of William Shatner.

Paramount CEO Brian Robbins made the announcement at an event dedicated to Paramount investors on Tuesday, although no other details were revealed. Although there are no concrete offers, Paramount hopes that the members of the initial distribution will return. These include Chris Pine (as Captain Kirk), Zachary Quinto (as Spock), Simon Pegg (as Scotty), Karl Urban (as Bones), Zoe Saldaña (as Uhura) and John Cho (as Sulu).

And because JJ Abrams’ Trek version didn’t impress too much, at one point, acclaimed director Quentin Tarantino said he would like to rebuild the franchise’s reputation, wanting to direct a film based on Gene’s universe. The new Star Trek movie will be directed by WandaVision man Matt Shakman, written by Josh Friedman and Cameron Squires.
