The song you couldn’t ignore in 2024 has been named the best-selling global single of the year – and it’s the best-selling single of the year.

If you asked the average person at the beginning of the year who Benson Boone was, many would have been completely lost for ideas. Then, however, the musician debuted a single called Beautiful Things that took the world absolutely by storm, so much so that the song has now been crowned the Biggest Selling Global Single of the Year by the IFPI.

We are told that the song topped all digital formats, including paid subscription streaming, ad-supported streaming and single song downloads, and it performed so well that it beat Sabrina Carpenter’s summer hit, Espresso.

In fact, the 10 best-selling singles of the year were as follows:

9. Cruel summer by Taylor Swift
10. Stick season by Noah Kahan

This is also because Taylor Swift was recently named the greatest artist of 2024 by the IFPI.
