Nuclear peaches go on sale at a surprisingly high price –

In 2011, an earthquake struck the Tohoku region of Japan, causing the Fukushima nuclear accident, one of the worst incidents since the Chernobyl disaster. More than a decade later, The Tokyo Electric Power Company (or Tepco) is trying to restore the region’s image.

While the cleanup process is still underway, Tepco has begun selling products from the region (via The Telegraph). Peaches have in fact found their way from Fukushima around the world. They have arrived at Harrods in London, but you have to pay a pretty penny for them, as they cost £80 (~$100).

The goal of the sales campaign is to turn people away from the belief that the food is contaminated. Instead, it seems that the only thing stopping you from getting some peaches from a radioactive area is the size of your bank account.
