Guild Esports, owned by David Beckham, teaches parents to keep kids safe online -.

Today is Safer Internet Day, and while you may not be aware of the event, Guild Esports, co-owned by David Beckham, certainly is. The company is trying to help parents keep their children safe online by teaching them how to participate.

The program teaches parents how to keep their children safe. With 71% of parents concerned about their children’s online activities but few knowing how to participate, it seems some education is needed.

The program not only shows parents how to become more knowledgeable, but it also teaches them the basics of playing Fortnite so they can also become more active with their children’s hobbies. Jed Leicester, a participant in the pilot project, said the following in a press release:

“It was a very interesting event that not only showcased the impressive setup of Sky Guild Gaming Centre, but also showed how maturely the coaches worked with the kids to identify and explain the skills needed to achieve greatness within the sport. They clearly identified the potentially harmful concepts and scenarios that we (parents and children) may not have considered while immersed in the gaming experience and helped us better understand how, with the right guidance, the virtual and real worlds can happily overlap.”
